Conwy River Trip 14/09/07

Can.t be bad third time on the water this week.
Wind forecast did,nt look promising and the tide and winds made it difficult to launch and land in the same spot locally so as I was with Mark a newcomer I went for the good old option of the Conwy river.
High tide around 1330 so we should be able to make it back for his school run.
Met at Benarth for 1030 and with tide and wind soon made it up to Dolgarog.
Stuck for a landing and due to time forced to land in what appeared to be a dry grass bank...wrong we ended up like two mud wrestlers.

Mark knocked his wrist and it unnaturally swelled up, no pain but a previous injury from a car collision had left glass in his arm which had from our prognosis been aggravated.
Just what your want 8 miles to go!
Still no discomfort so after a short bite back we went, well time was against us.
Some flow still left and yes wind don,t you just love it.
Slack waters a short distance and a hard paddle to make speed and distance.
Just made it with Mark shooting off for his two with seconds to spare.
Sixteen miles a slog back but a good training session and a pleasant day.
A&E, visit by Mark and yes monitor it they believe its the old injury what skills next patient please!!!!
