Dave,s second attempt at the Ormes!
Dave’s second trip and the tide times looked good for a trip from the West Shore to Llandudno and return, forecast not too bad, well it is July!
I arrived first and there was some swell and the wind was a tad stronger than forecasted which can cause some problems at the corner of the Great Orme, or as titled by us “Amen Corner”
It can get confused there with also some good flowing waters.
We launched and the swell was interesting, Dave managed to settle and we approached the corner, the swell was big and the flow was strong, springs, it was decided to give it a miss; it’s a commitment once you turn right with minimal landing areas.
Off along the mouth of the estuary with Dave settling in and gaining confidence by the minute.
Some gentle surfing into Conwy, a butty and back towards West Shore, some bobbly conditions with the ebbing tide over the wind, and Ga was now trying Mike Bells Greenland paddle which he fell in love with.
Dave’s second paddle and a great effort, dry again!!!!
