Great and Little Ormes

Phone call from Dave on Saturday and yes arrangements made to do the West Shore paddle.
The forecast was looking even better than yesterday.
Just prior to launching we were approached by a couple, they had driven up in a motor home and there were two Kevlar kayaks proudly mounted on top.
They were from a gang in Preston and were planning the Llandudno run
We decided to go to the Little Orme for lunch start back prior to the tide turning and use the bay to assist out return.
The seas were still and like glass a short time after launching we came across a curious seal cameras out but with no success they seem to know and will then appear in a follow position.
Whilst there a wave to a couple of guys in Romanys.
The plan was to paddle through with the stream but the conditions and scenery regarding the birds was an opportunity not to be missed.
Past the scenery and across the bay, landing for lunch.
About another hour before the tide turned so off along the Little Orme again with spectacular views and being receed by Dave re the ropes that are in abundance and recently added, not sure what for though.
The smooth seas had gone and they had picked up although going in our direction.
Past the pier and the seas from there to the tip of Pen Y trwyn became interesting, a good flow and irregular patterns, lots of hull slapping and both wet decks and faces.
Shot through that corner and saw what we assumed was the Preston gang in Cave area they were just landing.
Bobbed along and again some fun on the corners where the tide was flying through and I assume being on a shelf making it more fun.
A line can be clearly seen were the shelf ends making for calmer seas.
More rock and cave hopping to turn for home, with a bit of wind against us.
Landed and approached by one of the Romany guys, John a local who asked if he could have our contact details in order to have some company no problems we’ll talk to anyone and likewise paddle.
Another great day a rare opportunity to get out three times in one week fantastic.

Lunch spot

Little Orme although smaller ok stating the obvious has some spectacular rock faces that beat the Great Orme for wow factor

Coming around the Orme just past Devils Rocks more smooth seas
More rock hopping on the return leg or cave hopping

We had met a couple before launching they had a gouchey set of kevlar kayaks and a customised motorhome a gang I think from Preston
